                                                                                                             I took my writer’s club to City Street Sweets for a writing activity and candy making. If you haven’t been, you are missing a delightful time for the kids. We started by writing about what it might be like to work in a candy shop. We toured the shop and learned all about our favorite candies. We then made our own chocolate dipped marshmallows. YUM! After passing our candy test, we wrote about what we learned. The girls said, “I used to think there was only chocolate fudge, but now I know there is also watermelon and other flavors.”  Many thanks to Steve for such a great experience!

When they returned, the young lady’s mom gave me a disc of pictures she took to show me how much fun the girls had. As a thank you, I put together a book using her photos and captions from my daughter. Now they have a permanent reminder of a wonderful weekend.
